Volvo EX90 Enters Egypt at EGP 4.9 Million
Volvo has introduced its flagship EX90 electric SUV to the Egyptian market, adding a large premium electric vehicle to its local lineup with seven seats, all-wheel drive, dual electric motors and a comprehensive package of advanced safety and driver-assistance technologies.
The Volvo EX90 is currently listed in Egypt as a 2027 model, with the locally available Twin Motor AWD version priced at EGP 4.9 million, according to the latest market data. Volvo is represented in Egypt by Ezz Elarab Automotive.
The EX90 is positioned as a premium electric SUV rather than simply an alternative to conventional vehicles. It combines a large seven-seat cabin with a 106 kWh battery, a claimed electric range of up to 720 kilometers and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system.
Volvo EX90 Price in Egypt
The Volvo EX90 is currently offered in Egypt in one listed version, priced at EGP 4.9 million.
The locally available configuration uses Volvo’s Twin Motor AWD powertrain, combining two electric motors with all-wheel drive.
According to the latest market data, the price was updated on September 3, 2026, while the vehicle is listed as the latest generation available from the brand in Egypt.
The pricing places the EX90 firmly within Egypt’s premium electric vehicle segment, targeting customers who want more than electric propulsion alone and are instead looking for a combination of luxury, space, performance and advanced technology.
456 HP and 670 Nm of Torque
The Volvo EX90 uses a dual-motor electric powertrain producing up to 456 hp, with maximum torque reaching 670 Nm.
The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, while its top speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive system also provides immediate electric torque response, one of the defining characteristics of modern EV powertrains.
These figures give the EX90 a combination of family-oriented practicality and strong performance, allowing a seven-seat SUV to deliver acceleration figures associated with much smaller performance-oriented vehicles.
106 kWh Battery and Up to 720 km of Range
The EX90 is equipped with a 106 kWh nominal battery, while Volvo lists an estimated electric range of up to 720 km under WLTP testing conditions.
Volvo notes that the published range figures are based on specific test conditions and that real-world range can vary depending on driving behavior, weather and other external factors.
A 720-km claimed range is one of the EX90’s strongest selling points, particularly for customers looking for a large electric SUV capable of covering long distances without frequent charging stops.
10-80% Charging in 22 Minutes
The Volvo EX90 supports high-speed DC charging and can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes when connected to a DC charger capable of delivering up to 350 kW.
The vehicle also uses an 800-volt electrical architecture, while its onboard AC charger supports up to 11 kW.
Fast charging becomes particularly important in large electric SUVs because their bigger battery packs can otherwise require longer charging times. Volvo’s fast-charging capability is therefore designed to reduce downtime during long-distance journeys.
Seven-Seat Electric SUV
One of the EX90’s most distinctive characteristics is its ability to accommodate seven passengers, giving it an advantage over many electric SUVs that are configured primarily as five-seaters.
The vehicle measures 5.037 meters in length, 1.964 meters in width and 1.744 meters in height, while its wheelbase extends to 2.985 meters.
The large dimensions translate into a spacious interior and flexible cargo capacity. The official specifications list 324 liters of luggage capacity with the third row in use, rising to 697 liters when the third row is folded. Maximum cargo capacity can exceed 2,000 liters when the seats are folded.
This combination gives the EX90 a clear family-oriented character while retaining its premium SUV positioning.
14.5-Inch Central Display
The Volvo EX90 features an extensive digital technology package centered around a 14.5-inch central display, supported by a driver information screen and a range of integrated connectivity services.
The vehicle supports built-in Google services, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless smartphone charging and USB-C connectivity. A premium Bowers & Wilkins sound system is also available as part of the EX90’s equipment package.
Technology also plays a major role in the vehicle’s safety architecture, with electronic systems designed to monitor the surrounding environment and assist the driver in a range of driving situations.
Advanced Safety Technology
Safety remains one of Volvo’s defining characteristics, and the EX90 incorporates a broad selection of driver-assistance and protection systems.
The vehicle includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assistance, collision avoidance and mitigation systems, adaptive cruise control, parking assistance and multiple sensing technologies.
The Egyptian market specification lists nine airbags, a wide-angle camera system, a 14.5-inch central display and a panoramic roof.
Volvo also equips the EX90 with what it describes as advanced sensing technology, forming part of the vehicle’s broader electronic safety architecture designed to assist the driver and enhance occupant protection.
Volvo Targets the Premium EV Segment
The introduction of the EX90 in Egypt marks an important development for the premium electric vehicle segment, particularly as more manufacturers bring larger and more powerful electric SUVs to the local market.
The EX90 is not designed to compete primarily on affordability. Instead, it targets customers seeking a large luxury SUV that combines electric performance, passenger capacity, advanced technology and premium equipment.
Its seven-seat configuration, long electric range and high output give the EX90 a distinct position within the electric vehicle market, making it more comparable to a luxury family SUV than a conventional entry-level EV.
EGP 4.9 Million Places EX90 in Premium Competition
With a listed price of EGP 4.9 million, the Volvo EX90 enters Egypt’s premium electric SUV segment with a combination of a large battery, up to 720 km of claimed range, 456 hp, all-wheel drive and seven seats.
The combination gives the vehicle an opportunity to compete with other large premium EVs that focus on performance, technology and interior space.
As Egypt’s electric vehicle market continues to develop, competition is increasingly likely to revolve around the complete ownership package rather than vehicle price alone. Range, charging speed, performance, safety technology, after-sales support and overall practicality are all becoming increasingly important factors.
In this environment, the Volvo EX90 positions itself as a premium seven-seat electric SUV aimed at families and buyers seeking long range, strong performance and advanced technology in a single vehicle, adding a new option to Egypt’s growing luxury EV market.
